Too fat to fit

Updated: Oct 27, 2021
As The world lessens its restrictions, we find ourselves leaving the athletic warmups and slides behind. I hope I am the only one who realized the weight gain of at least 5lbs a month.(for an entire year) Wow, I mean, its not fair, who can I blame for this...
I could place blame on one of the various delivery companies, who readily have my less than healthy favorites at a moments notice. Am I correct in mentioning, quitting smoking adds inches to my waistline and there is no solution. Is it right to blame digitally commuting and conversing through many different means without leaving home? Is it accurate to infer my long hair and beard make me weigh 50lbs more? I doubt it...

I've tried on my suits and shirts that I have made increasingly larger with each order(my fat clothing) and to no avail they simply do not fit accurately. It is fair to say I cannot button any of my recently made jackets without uncomfortably "sucking it in" and holding my breath until I unbutton again. I've creatively used lightweight 4-way stretch fabrics to conceal my unwanted obesity. I have been making more double breasted jackets that haven't been worn buttoned since delivery. Every time we have an in-person event, i.e. wedding, funeral, social gathering I run to the wardrobe, cross my fingers and hope what I am about to try on will fit and be comfortable for the entire outing. Often this has been a depressing experience causing me to be absent for more than a few engagements.
I only blame myself. Yes indeed, it is my own fault for allowing my want to overcome my need. I love food is an excuse I have used since grade school. I will always love exquisite culinary creations, however the time is now that I take action and make my own changes. Follow me on this journey as I will drastically limit my caloric intake, eventually start exercising and make it a point to eat healthy as much as possible.
As the world has been in quarantine I have found myself obsessively watching YouTube. My YouTube subscriptions consist mostly of sailors circumnavigating the globe on various monohull and multihulls alike. My mother, 73 this week, has been watching the vlogging community as well in a much different capacity. She said it is time to start a whole food plant based diet, with little to no Salt, Oil, or Sugar. When in doubt call your mother. I know this seems impossible as a person who's favorite pastime is eating until I enter in the oh so sweet food coma, and drift off to sleep dreaming of another culinary masterpiece on the horizon.
The plan:
Healthy=No Salt, No oil, No Sugar. No supplements or not some special caveman specific meal plan. Not really vegan or vegetarian however plants will be the main course of every meal. I am anticipating a few slips and cheats along the way however I will not let it become habitual or commonplace. Join me on my first 30 day journey to eat healthy and lose the weight I so enjoyed gaining during quarantine.
Every day I will do my best to submit the weigh in, I will periodically share meals I've created or have enjoyed. I'll also add my caloric intake as to see what happens. I am not taking any endorsements or any sponsors. I am just doing this to be healthy and if it works I will share the plan so you can make the same changes in your life as well.
Day 1. (10/4/2021) I am feeling nervous about my commitment. Here is my illustrious starting point. I can only assume it will increasingly become more acceptable:

Day 2. It is difficult keeping your mind off snacking. We are becoming habitual Hoboken Farmer's market patrons. Attempting to eat everything before it is expired has become a new anxiety of ours. I have eaten most our our broccoli-of course steamed with zero salt. Looks like we will be heading back on Saturday. Here is the weigh in:

Day 3. My 41st Birthday. Getting another year older does not make this easier. However if you think about it now it is more important to think about it than ever before.

Day 4. I'm still working at it. I must say getting over being hungry certainly sucks. However, I told myself I will not over indulge and will concentrate on eating healthy. All I can say is so far so good.

Day 5. No change. but I do feel a bit better.

Day 6. Now I felt good, losing 4 lbs in a few days felt great. I stuck to my plan and although I am still considered obese I feel like I'm heading in the right direction.

Day 8.(10/11/2021)Monday. I accidentally skipped one day...Ok I ate way too much... Football and food go way to good together. I need to add working out to the mix. I am back to the strict diet. I am going on a trip the 13th-16th, hopefully I can manage my excessive appetite. Here is the stats after indulging this weekend.

Day 9. Let's stick to the plan. The best thing to do is to keep yourself busy i.e. walking, drinking water, cleaning, and reading. I have found when I'm home these are the best ways to avoid boredom snacking.

Day 10.(10/13/21) This is going to be difficult. Tomorrow, we are headed to the Annapolis Boat show for the week. I feel a lot better-no more heartburn-no more stomachache. I am going to focus more when I get back. I am going to eat healthy before we leave.

Day 11 (10/18/21) Ok after a great weekend of visiting one of our future water based floating homes-I feel fat-We ate like animals with no foreseeable "Full" or "Shutoff Switch" Our two favorite restaurants were Preserve and Level. Both were great. Just look below and look at the weight gain. Sad. However it is back to square one. It is rather odd so many people are quick to say weight loss is water weight. As you see from the past few days my water level has risen and now it is less.

Day 12 (10/20/21) Ok I spent the day trying to plan for the week. I believe not having a plan in place is why I conveniently binge on delivery-No more. We are back to shopping for healthy whole food plant based things.

Day 13 (10/21/21) See it does work. I have a long way to go but working on it takes time. Believe it or not potatoes are great. We often thing they are unhealthy because we tend to load them up with cheese, bacon, sour cream and other sorts of fat composed additions.

Day 14 (10/22/21)

Day 15 (10/23/21)

Day 16 (10/24/21)
